Simon Monjack was the husband of the late actress Brittany Murphy. She died December 20, 2009 from cardiac arrest, after her mother Sharon Murphy found her unconscious in the shower. Simon is a director, and was set to direct a movie in which Brittany was to star, The White Hotel, but the project never came together.

They didn't announce their engagement beforehand, and made few public appearances together.Monjack, who's British, was the executive producer and writer of Factory Girl, and the director of Two Days, Nine Lives. He was born in 1970.
