Ryan Reynolds to Star in Deadpool Movie

Who didn’t see this coming! Funny guy Ryan Reynolds is set to reprise the role of Deadpool (who made his first on-screen appearance in Xmen Origins: Wolverine) in an upcoming Xmen spin-off feature film. According to variety.com, Twentieth Century Fox has already begun development on "Deadpool”, however other key details regarding the film including supporting actors and a release date have not yet been announced.

Deadpool is Wade Wilson, a mercenary who, dying of cancer, submits himself to
the Weapon X genetic alteration experiment and emerges as an indestructible
semi-sane anti-hero. Reynolds seemed destined to play the character. In one
reference in the Marvel Comics, Deadpool is described as a mix between "a Shar
Pei and Ryan Reynolds."
