Thousands Receive Free Medical Treatment At The Forum In Los Angeles

Kelly Jones checks on her daughter AuDrya Clayton, 8, while waiting overnight in the parking lot of the Forum for a free health clinic on August 11, 2009 in Inglewood, California. She said she had arrived at 10:30pm to make sure she and her daughter got a ticket into the first-come first-serve free clinic, which opened its doors at the indoor arena after 5am. From August 11-18 the non-profit Remote Area Medical is holding the nation's largest free healthcare clinic. Hundreds of doctors, dentists, optometrists and nurses volunteered to serve uninsured and underinsured people. With a limit of 1,500 patients per day, the organizers expect to see some 10,000 people during the 8-day clinic.
