An Augusta woman is reaching out to her generosity in her neighborhood by feeding the hungry. Since October, Patsy Skinner has been making warm meals for the poor and homeless in her community.  

MARLBORO — The story of Dorothy Day, an advocate of peace and social justice on behalf of the poor and homeless, will be brought to life onstage at the chapel of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, 160 Conover Road, in the Wickatunk section of Marlboro.  

DEVENS -- Lauren Irwin is proud that she repeatedly redesigned her foot-tall, cardboard geodesic dome until it no longer looked lopsided in her trigonometry class. The senior at Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School has an entrepreneurial side, too.  

Gov. Dave Heineman and First Lady Sally Ganem will help serve Thanksgiving dinner to poor and homeless people in Lincoln. The couple planned to serve dinner at the People’s City Mission Lincoln beginning at 11 a.m. on Thursday.  

The geodesic dome designed and built by famed architect R Buckminster Fuller in Woods Hole is being preserved as part of a 43-unit retirement development approved unanimously by the Cape Cod Commission.  

The Cherry Street Mission Ministries will feed the poor and homeless this Thanksgiving by distributing 350 food baskets and serving approximately 1,100 dinners on Thanksgiving Day.  

The homeless and the poor in NSW will be able to complete charity work or treatment programs as a way of paying off fines.  

The “lava monsters” are back and better than ever at Barnes Elementary. The creatures, aka students at the Kelso school, have restarted their playful business of pulling their classmates off the elementary’s geodesic dome and into the “lava” below.  

St Stephen's Church, Wayside Mission, and Salvation Army were among facilities receiving donations.  

PORTSMOUTH It's usually floods, hurricanes or other disasters that get the wheels of Mercy Chefs rolling. But this year, R. Gary Le-Blanc heads to New York for Thanksgiving, where he will join three other chefs and a dozen helpers to serve 4,000 meals to the poor and homeless.  

CHEYENNE -- Nervous -- not scared -- is how John Shumway felt spending the night in a homeless shelter. A lawyer in the state Attorney General’s Office, Shumway is also a volunteer who works with the homeless.
