The Honda Indy 300 marks the 12th consecutive year that Twin Ring Motegi has hosted Indy car racing. But the history of Indy car racing in Japan extends all the way back to Oct. 9, 1966, when the United States Auto Club staged an exhibition race at the Fuji International Speedway road course.
