Abby Sunderland, 16, is going to have a lot of alone time over the next five or six months, as she just set out on a sailing trip around the world. The Thousand Oaks teen has a boat-builder father, and her brother previously held the world record for being the youngest person to sail around the wold solo, so guess it's in her blood.

She was delayed a few days because of the massive storms in California, but she set sail yesterday, according to
NPR. Abby will be alone, but able to communicate via satellite and will post about her trip on her blog AbbySunderland.com.
The current record holder is 17-year-old Mike Perham of Britain, who took the honor from Abby's then-17-year-old brother Zac for the youngest nonstop, unassisted solo-circumnavigation of the globe by sea.
