Private Game Reserves in South Africa

South Africa is a nature lover’s paradise and a wildlife enthusiasts dream!

South Africa has some of the worlds’ best wildlife and conservation policies that have resulted in the prolific growth of numerous private game reserves and small game lodges in the country. Under supervision, these areas have actively invested time, money and passion into creating a wildlife wonderland. There are now game reserves and animal sanctuaries in nearly every province in South Africa!

The well established game reserves have also been hard at work, breaking down boundaries and expanding their preservation areas. One of the finest examples of this is the establishment of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park. This is a long term project that will link the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique, Kruger National Park in South Africa, Gonarezhou National Park, Manjinji Pan Sanctuary and Malipati Safari Area in Zimbabwe, as well as two areas between Kruger and Gonarezhou, namely the Sengwe communal land in Zimbabwe and the Makuleke region in South Africa. The total surface area of the newly formed transfrontier park will be approximately 35,000 km2. The establishment of the Transfrontier Park is the first phase of creating a bigger transfrontier conservation area measuring a staggering 100,000 km2!

The Addo Elephant National Park has also been breaking down boundaries with its neighbouring conservancies to form the Greater Addo National Park.

All of this adds up to South Africa being the perfect place to go on safari!

Already been to the Kruger National Park but still want to go on Safari?

Well, there are now a number of smaller conservancies that have been set up that offer excellent game viewing in more remote environments, which means fewer crowds! Excellent examples of this are the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve in the Limpopo Province, Madikwe Game Reserve in the North West Province and the Nambiti Game Reserve in KwaZulu Natal

So, planning a Safari? Think of a safari in South Africa!
