P&G Names Olympian Alicia Sacramone As New Brand Ambassador

P&G partners with an Olympian to serve as for its brands.

Through its brands, Procter & Gamble (P&G) announced that , Beijing 2008 Olympic Games silver medalist, will serve as an ambassador for P&G brands including COVERGIRL, Olay,  and Secret. Sacramone’s involvement is in addition to P&G’s partnership with USA Gymnastics and its global marketing partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in support of the Olympic Movement, which will reach through the next five Olympic Games from 2012 through the 2020 Olympic Games.

The silver medalist is excited about her new gig. Here’s what she said about the news:

“I’m thrilled to partner with P&G Beauty and am so appreciative of their sponsorship of USA Gymnastics and the U.S. ’s team,”. “When I’m competing, confidence is key and nothing boosts me like feeling beautiful inside and out.”

Sacramone and members of USA Gymnastics’ U.S. ’s Senior National Team will be fully integrated across numerous marketing channels including advertising, in-store promotions, public relations, digital and social media. Participating brands include: Always, Clairol Nice ‘n Easy, COVERGIRL, Crest, Ivory, Olay, , Secret, Tampax and Venus. Several P&G beauty brands, including COVERGIRL, Olay, Secret and Venus, will also release a selection of top-selling in P&G special limited-edition Olympic Games packaging.

“Our goal is to inspire young with the message that when you believe in yourself, anything is possible,” said Gina Drosos, Group President, P&G Beauty. “Alicia and the members of USA Gymnastics are incredible role models, and we are so proud to partner with them. Together, we want to help people achieve their personal best every day.”
