Amanda Holden gives birth to healthy baby girl Hollie Rose after emergency hospitalisation

Amanda Holden gave birth to a healthy baby girl on Monday, named Hollie Rose, her spokesperson has confirmed.

But the 40-year-old presenter has been in a critical condition, causing her concerned family to delay the announcement of the baby girl's arrival.

Alison Griffin, spokeswoman for Amanda Holden and Chris Hughes, said: 'Hollie Rose Hughes was born on 23 January 2012. She is healthy and weighed in at 6.1lbs but Amanda has been in a critical condition for the past three days.

'She is now stable and we expect her to make a full recovery very soon. We thank you for respecting their privacy at this time.'

The birth came after Amanda checked herself into hospital on Monday and spent the last two nights 'under observation' at the medical centre.

Amanda had been due to film Britain’s Got Talent auditions in Blackpool with fellow judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.

But the show’s organisers were forced to go ahead with just three judges.

Amanda called Cowell late on Monday night to say she would be unable to join him and her fellow judges at their luxurious hotel in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire.

As he left his hotel yesterday, Cowell said: 'We have had a chat and fingers crossed all is fine at the moment. There is no point taking risks is there?'

Amanda suffered a miscarriage in May 2010 and gave birth to a child who was stillborn in February last year, when she was seven months pregnant.
