Did Megan Fox Channel La Dolce Vita's Anita Ekberg for Her Pool Scene in How to Lose Friends...?

Megan Fox's medium-to-small sized role in How to Lose Friends and Alienate People was heavily advertised as a drawing point for the film, and for good reason.  Her lofty movie star character debuts on screen with a real bang of a scene stealer (see first clip below).  It's one of those scenes that people will always associate with her stunning beauty.

Watching the film, Fox is reminiscent of seductive characters throughout film history who seem to taunt bumbling men infatuated with their unattainable looks.  Bo Derek in 10 jogging along the beach with Dudley Moore gawking comes to mind. [Continue after Jump...]

How to Lose Friends and Alienate People bombed miserably a couple weeks ago when it opened, but I found it very entertaining and attribute its failure to having a relatively unknown and unattractive British actor (Simon Pegg) in the lead.  Ghost Town with Ricky Gervais opened the week before to the same empty auditoriums.  I don't think Americans are that receptive to those idiosyncratic characters the Brits seem to love.
