Look Who Wants To Play Again In The NBA! Antoine “The Gambler” Walker!

Some guys never know when to say goodbye; and according to the “Associated Press” fomer NBA All-Star Antoine Walker may attempt to come back and play once again in the NBA  next season. It has been a while since New York Vinnie wrote about the “Stupidest Frickin Human Being To Ever Walk The Planet” former NBA All-Star Antoine Walker.

You may remember that last July the former NBA player was arrested in Nevada for making bets that he could not cover. Walker was arrested when he went to Lake Tahoe to play in a “Celebrity Golf Match” after a warrant had been issued for his arrest in Las Vegas for skipping out on $822,500 in unpaid debts. The case was eventually settled when the former Boston Celtics star made a deal with three Vegas hotels to make good on more than $900,000 in order to clear up three  bad check charges.

Walker made an obscene amount of money during his years in the NBA, more money than any human being should ever need. There was just one problem; he spent even more than he made. The Associated Press on Thursday reported that Walker’s former coach Louisville bench boss Rick Pitino told reporters that Walker will attempt a come back this fall with an NBA team. According to Pitino the former NBA star will work out with a number of Louisville players over the coming weeks.

Pitino coached Walker during his college days at Kentucky and the pair were reunited when Pitino took over as Team President and head coach of the Boston Celtics. The Louisville head coach is also going to have Walker talk to the players about the temptations of living the fast life in the NBA. Pitino told reporters “He’ll talk to our guys. What I told him is it’s not about the past, get ready and get going and move on.”

Walker has not played in the NBA since December 18, 2008 when the Memphis Grizzlies bought him out of his contract. He will be 34 years old in August and New York Vinnie truly wonders whether there is a team that will give the financially strapped former player a shot at making it back to the NBA. Walker had attempted to return to the NBA last fall and told members of the media that he was in discussions with four different teams. However nothing went past the talking stage.

New York Vinnie would like to express sorrow that Walker finds himself in the position that he is in; but that would be an out right lie. Antoine Walker had the world on a string a few years ago; and he has no one other than himself to blame for where he is now in life. There are too many people in this Great Nation of ours that are one paycheck away from being out on the Frickin street who have played by the rules. Those are the people New York Vinnie has pity for. Not some Frickin Munecho who threw away his money!
