@superveloce: I'd say we're both right. I was looking at cars for a daily driver. What I almost inevitably saw was cars that suffered enormously for lack of (or improper) maintenance and repair - which rapidly led to them becoming near basket cases. And expensive ones at that. It doesn't...  

@ciscokidinsf: It's a mid-90's Camry, and even those could be had for cheap here in SoCal. Sell off the non-essential parts, and it's an easy sub-$500 car. As for the Alfa ... hey, it's well in the spirit to take a PCH candidate to a race, right? narf
