LONGBRIDGE, England — Production of 500 MG TFs kicked off here in August, but plans have been dropped to bring a revamped version of the roadster to the U.S., according to Gary Hagen, the marketing director of NAC MG.  

Full-scale car manufacturing resumed today at the historic Longbridge factory, with the production of the two-seater MG TF LE500 sports car.  

NAC MG UK and Caterpillar Logistics Services (UK) have agreed a deal under which the latter's subsidiary, XPart, will manage the supply and distribution of spare parts for MG TF cars to the Chinese automaker's new 55-dealer network.  

MG's plans to return to North America with a revamped version of the TF roadster are dead.
