A community portal about Below 100 Nanometers with blogs, videos, and photos. According to Wikipedia.org: Nanotechnology is a field of applied science and technology covering a broad range of topics. The main unifying theme is the control of matter on a scale below 100 nano meters, as well as the fabrication of devices on this same length scale. It is a highly multidisciplinary field, drawing from fields such as colloidal science, device physics, and supramolecular chemistry. Much speculation exists as to what new science and technology might result from these lines of research. Some view nanotechnology as a marketing term that describes pre-existing lines of research.
A team of researchers at Northwestern University has demonstrated the ability to rapidly write nanoscale protein arrays using a tool they call the nanofountain probe (NFP).
On Thursday 7th of October, a number of journalists and media men held a meeting with the manager of Iranian Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC), Ali- ...
Amid the growing number of nanotechnology-related career opportunities in the Capital Region and New York State, more than 300 elementary, middle- and high-school students got an inside look at the high-tech workplace of the future when they participated in NanoCareer Day held today at the...
This week Nature Nanotechnology journal reveals how scientists from the London Centre for Nanotechnology at UCL are using a novel nanomechanical approach to investigate the workings of vancomycin, one of the ...
The Center for Nanotechnology in Society at the University of California at Santa Barbara (CNS-UCSB) helped to win the new University of California Center for the Environmental Implications of Nanotechnology (UC CEIN), a five-year, $24 million center co-funded by the National Science Foundation...
The long-term vision of revolutionary bottom-up nanotechnology is based on two different concepts of molecular assembly technologies. One follows Nature's blueprint, which uses molecular recognition for self-assembly of nanoscale materials and structures; the other is man-made and uses...
A couple of weeks ago I took part in a dialogue meeting in Brussels organised by the CIAA , the Confederation of the Food and Drink Industries of the EU, about nanotechnology in food.
In the tiny realm of nanotechnology, scientists have used a wide variety of materials to build atomic scale structures. But just as in the construction business, nanotechnology researchers can often be limited by the amount of raw materials.
Despite the growing use of nanoengineered materials in consumer products, recent indications from the Food and Drug Administration and the Consumer Product Safety Commission suggest that neither agency is prepared to act any time soon to regulate nanoscale ingredients. Increasingly...
Canada-based non-governmental organization ETC Group is warning that nanotechnology could potentially have negative implications for small-scale farmers, ...
A new breakthrough in nanotechnology is offering a real wow factor for drugmakers - the possibility of delivering multiple drugs at once into targeted cells ...
Our Spotlight today again shows an example of the very fundamental research that is taking place in labs around the world to lay the foundation for future nanotechnology based devices. It illustrates the very early stage of development and the nature of the fundamental challenges that make up...
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has received an $8.1 million grant from the National Science Foundation to support the Materials Research Science and Engineering Center and its nanotechnology research through 2014.
