The "Beowulf" movie was one of the more recent attempts to bring the classic story of "Beowulf" to the big screen. The 2007 "Beowulf" movie featured Ray Winstone in the title role with Crispin Glover as Grendel and Angelina Jolie as Grendel's mother. Anthony Hopkins played King Hrothgar. The movie was directed by Robert Zemeckis in a digital rotoscope animation style that has become a signature for the director.
Beowulf Alley Theatre at 11 South 6th Avenue, Downtown Tucson between Broadway and Congress, presents Rabbit Hole by David Lindsay-Abaire. Sara Falconer makes her directorial debut at Beowulf Alley with this powerful production that earned the 2006 Tony Award for Best New Play and the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
