The "Beowulf" movie was one of the more recent attempts to bring the classic story of "Beowulf" to the big screen. The 2007 "Beowulf" movie featured Ray Winstone in the title role with Crispin Glover as Grendel and Angelina Jolie as Grendel's mother. Anthony Hopkins played King Hrothgar. The movie was directed by Robert Zemeckis in a digital rotoscope animation style that has become a signature for the director.
Due to an illness, Beowulf Alley Late Night Theatre group has cancelled performances of Athene. They were to take place on Friday, Oct. 23 through Sunday, Oct. 25. Call 882-0555 or visit www.beowulfalley.org for more information.
