Samsung gives $3 million to breast cancer charities
Charity VIPs, celebrities, and those with inspiring stories to tell attended the Samsung Pink Ribbon Gala Dinner to celebrate Samsung’s generous $3 million donation to Breast Cancer Charities.
The event, held at the Sheraton Park Lane, included speeches, dinner, and a silent auction, as well as headlining performances by soul sensations Beverley Knight and Kelly Rowland, who both spoke to us about their beliefs in music inspiring change and boosting morale.
We spoke to guest Jerry Hall, whose sister defeated breast cancer, as well as Caroline Monk, who was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 25, and has since overcome the disease and is now helping those in need feel like glamorous women again.
Each guest had a touching story to tell about how their life or loved one has been affected by breast cancer. As one in eight women in the UK will get breast cancer, it’s not hard to believe that it’s already affected nearly all of us.
The theme of the evening was to raise awareness and fight for a cure. Samsung’s donation brings the cause a big step forward for Pink Ribbon charities to continue on their mission for the cure. Check the Samsung Supports Pink Ribbon Charities channel for interviews with many more of the evening’s star guests.
