Valentine Special: Bollywood’s Top 10 Romantic Films!

On this special occasion of Valentines Day, we present the top 10 Romantic films from Bollywood, which can be watched with your loved one at anytime and every time.

1. Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai

It’s a typical Bollywood masala movie with an added spice of romance. Hrithik and Ameesha’s first romantic love story had simply won everybody’s heart. The title song of this movie ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’ is certainly a definitive line to propose your love.

The film was a debut movie of Rakesh Roshan’s son Hrithik Roshan, and also marks the debut movie of the actress Ameesha Patel. Hrithik enacted as a double role in the movie, and turned into an overnight superstar in India.

2. Jab We Met

It’s a very fresh and young-looking love story, which had won everybody’s heart. This movie is the most romantic and entertaining movie of the once real-life couple Shahid and Kareena. The song ‘Tum Se Hi’ will for all the time be special for all the love birds.

This movie had won an approximately 3 awards with 10 nominations. It’s a 2007 romantic comedy movie, which was written and directed by Imtiaz Ali. After gazing the success of this movie, the film was remade in four different South Indian languages, which includes Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. The movie was produced by Dhillin Mehta under Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd that stared Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor in their 4th movie together.

3. Saathiya

Vivek and Rani shared as a stunning onscreen chemistry in this emotional love story. ‘Saathiya’ will forever be very much near to every youngster’s heart. The title song of the movie is as good as mesmerizing.

This movie had won an approximate 13 awards and 6 nominations. It’s a 2002 romantic drama movie, which was directed by Shaad Ali and was made under the banner of Yash Raj Films. It’s a remake of the famed Tamil movie, Alaipayuthey which was directed by Mani Ratnam.

4. Hum Tum

Rani and Saif just looked an ideal romantic couple in this movie. The sumptuous chemistry and romance rush in the movie is something to cherish for. Hum Tum is in reality merriment of love. The title song of the movie is very much romantic in visuals and as well as when it is heard with closed eyes.

It’s a 2008 movie, which was directed by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. Shahrukh Khan enacts the character as a mild-mannered office employee Surinder Sahni, whose love for gorgeous and lively Taani (Anushka Sharma), grounds him to change himself into the noisy and playful “Raj” to win her love. This film had had won an approximate 3 awards and 7 nominations.

6. Kal Ho Na Ho

Love, Romance and Sacrifice has all been described in this one opus. It had an incredible chemistry between Preity Zinta and Shah Rukh Khan, which will make you fall in love with the movie over and over again. Watch out this one for pure love and piles of romance. Kal Ho Na Ho is an unconditional extravagance for everybody this Valentine.

The film starred Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles. It had won an approximate 18 awards with 28 nominations.

7. Namastey London

Love is insanity and at the same time it tells us to be calm and cool in every situation. ‘Namastey London’ is a comprehensive treat for all the couple in this Valentines Day. Watch out for Akshay and Katrina’s sizzling chemistry in this movie.

This movie is a perfect example for all the lovers to have an unconditional love inside them and equally to be calm and cool in every other situation in life.

It’s a 2007 romantic comedy film, which is directed by Vipul Shah and starred Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. It was remade in Bengali, as Poran Jaye Jolia Re starring Dev and Subhashree Ganguly in lead roles, which was a huge hit in West Bengal.

8. Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna

It’s an exceptionally mature love story, starring the most romantic lover of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan and the gorgeous Rani Mukerji. The film showed the people that love is soft, beautiful and everlasting.

Set and mainly shot in New York City, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna is a romantic drama movie which discovers themes of betrayal and extramarital love affairs. Bearing in mind the Indian culture, many Indian people have criticized the movie, but if it is considered as an open mind, the movie definitely has a good mature love story.

9. Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif showed that love is not only in relation to soreness and sacrifice, but it is too in relation to a lot of fun, masti and chemistry in this wild and crazy movie.

The story is about some crazy adventures of a boy who is eager to give up his own love to insure the joy and bliss of others, and is trying his level best that the girl-of-his-dreams would be happily married to the boy-of-her-dreams.

It’s a 2009 romantic comedy film, which is directed written, directed and produced by Rajkumar Santoshi. The movie stars Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in their lead roles. The movie was shot in Ooty, Mumbai, Pune, Goa. The song ‘Tu Jaane Na’ was independently shot in Aspendos, Perga and Pamukkale of Turkey.

10. Veer-Zaara

Veer-Zara recollects the old memory of Heer-Ranjha fairy-tale. This story opens out the true unconditional love between the Indian Veer and the Pakistani Zara, enacted by Shah Rukh Khan and Priety Zinta in that order.

Saamiya Siddiqui (Rani Mukerji), a Pakistani lawyer, locates Veer in Pakistani jail, and on listening his legend tale, she makes an attempt to get him free from Pakistan so that he can live peacefully rest of his life at his motherland, India.

It’s a 2004 film, which was directed by none other than the legend Yash Chopra. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Rani Mukerji in their respective leading roles, with Kirron Kher, Divya Dutta and Anupam Kher in their supporting roles. Veteran actors Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini had made special appearances in the movie. The dialogues were penned down by Aditya Chopra. The music of the movie was based on old compositions by the late Madan Mohan with lyrics penned down by Javed Akhtar. The film won an approximate 20 wins with 27 nominations.
