The reports have it that both are making a movie with the same name and have even filed a complaint against each other with Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers (AMPTPP).
A tabloid informs that Arif Khan had planned his directorial debut years back and had already registered the said title with AMPTPP in 2007. In fact, Khan, who is also the producer of the project, has already started shooting for the same.
“I am making a film called Bol Bachchan with myself and Amitabh Bachchan’s duplicate in the lead roles. It is based on farmer suicides. I have already started shooting for it,” said Arif.
He even expressed his displeasure when he learnt that AMPTPP had given the title to Ashtavinayak for Rohit Shetty’s Ajay Devgn-Abhishek Bachchan starrer. “When I wanted to renew the title for the fourth year, AMPTPP refused. When I have begun shooting, how can they give the title to Ashtavinayak?”
However, Ratan Jain AMPTPP President explained that the title has not been given to Ashtavinayak. It is with the association itself. He said, “Arif Khan’s claims are wrong.
The title was with him for three years. We have a mandate that if the person does not start shooting the particular film then we can give the title to the next party. If he has begun shooting then he has to produce evidence.
We had a meeting with him and told him so. We are waiting for his evidence. Ashtavinayak is the first party in waiting. If he can’t provide the evidence then the title can be given to Ashtavinayak.”
