Britney Spears Is a Candie's Girl

Just in time for the release of Forbes' Celebrity 100, Britney Spears, who ranked sixth among the world's most powerful stars, is gearing up for what might be a particularly profitable holiday weekend. The singer, who earned $64 million in the past 12 months, will launch her limited-edition fashion line, Britney for Candie's, on July 1.

Available exclusively at Kohl's stores and on www.kohls.com, Britney for Candie's is a collection that Brit Brit says reflects who she really is. She told WWD:

I wanted to design clothes that I would wear and my fans would wear. That was the most important thing to me. I wanted to make both daytime casual looks and fun dresses to go out in at night. I met with the design team for Candie's and Kohl's, and we started making sketches and designed a line. I got to approve every single piece in the line. It was really a lot of fun.

Britney's Candie's collection takes inspiration from both her Circus tour stage costumes and Brit's everyday street style. The line is chockful of leggings, skirts, oversized slouchy tops and, of course, jeans. She says,

I love denim, so I made sure to include a lot of jeans. I can't wait for it to come out."

Brit apparently had so much fun creating this collection, she's already dropping hints about the next one: "I had such a blast designing this line," say said, "and would love to do it again."
