I purchased the compact sound system so that we could enjoy the XM radio capabilities on the beach and in a classic car I own. (I didn't want to install an in dash XM radio in the car for aesthetic reasons.) I have been extremely pleased with my purchase. We are able to listen to our favorite music and sports on the beach without the constant interruptions of commercials or searching for a strong and static clear FM station.

The Audiovox XM Satellite Radio Sound System features two woofers, two tweeters, bass boost, and a 10 watts RMS amplifier to produce dynamic sound. The system also includes an Audio In jack for playing an iPod/MP3 or CD player. A foldable handle, internally stored XM antenna, and more than 18 hours of battery life allow listeners the option to take their XM Radio from the home or office to the patio or picnic table.

Love this thing ! I've taken it to the mountains for camping and take it to work daily. It is a bit of a battery hog though. I bought a rechargeable battery system to stem the cost of that one drawback. Highly recommend this thing.

I have a very big need for this item. [sailboat & motorhome] This is my second Audiovox XMBB1, my first one, the on-off switch only worked occasionally. I have had this one six weeks. All of a sudden the on-off switch only works parttime. There also seems to be a short on the volume control [volume is very low through half of the volume range then very loud] a lot of static at times. The time to return this item passed 8/3. This is the worst item I ever bought from Amazon and I bought alot of things over the years.

Quality sound. Very happy with the purchase. The only negative is the blue "power on" light is very difficult to see when I'm outside in the sunlight.
