This is the Fiat that should have been brought to the USA first : it is the new 500 L and as you can see it is much larger than the current 500 offering in the USA. In actuality they couldn't bring it here first though because the car is launching at the Geneva Motor Show soon.

A Fiat 500 with more storage space and with another set of doors could do wonders in the States where cargo space is becoming a necessity. The engine is also highly fuel efficient like its brother car the 500.

Having a larger 500 offering would bring people in the Fiat showrooms and also would help them compete with the multiple offerings from the MINI brand. With the car launching in Europe late 2012, one would not see the Fiat 500 L in the States until at least 2013 (and that is if Fiat wants to bring them here).
