Carly Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard, has become a subject of plenty of chatter, after continued rumors that she's considering challenging Sen.
Barbara Boxer (D-CA) for her Senate seat in 2010. Fiorna hasn't officially declared she plans to run, but the
San Jose Mercury News poured more gasoline on the fire today,
with an article looking at what Fiorna would bring to the fight .
First and foremost of Fiorina's assets? Her, uh, assets; she can pour millions of dollars into her own campaign, allowing her to hit the ground more than running. Also helpful is that Boxer will be tied to the policies of the Obama adminstration, for better or worse.
Speaking to the Mercury News, Jennifer Duffy at the nonpartisan Cook Polical Report says, "Like almost any Democrat, [Boxer] carries the burden of the party that controls the White House and Congress and the voters' pleasure, or lack thereof, in what the Democratic majority produces. And as the Senate takes up climate change, Boxer is in something of a hot seat as chairman of the committee. That could be a blessing and a curse."
