Chris Cooley Believe’s He’ll be a Redskin Next Season

Tight end Chris Cooley believes he’ll be playing for the Washington Redskins in 2012,  despite the injury woes he’s faced over the past few seasons.

“I have no doubt that I’ll be here,” Cooley said. “I’m excited to continue to be a part of this team and to continue playing the game that I love.”

Cooley isn’t concerned about his knee,  despite undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery about a year ago and still having problems with it this season,  that ended up landing him on injured reserve.

“I’m not worried at all about my playing my best football and I’m not worried about proving anything to anyone,” he said. “I know I’m a good player, and I’m going to do everything that I can to come out and play well for the team. And beyond that, there’s not a chip on my shoulder, there’s nothing that I’m trying to prove. I just want to be productive, I want to win games, and I want to have fun.”

I believe Cooley will be back next season.  Especially since tight end Fred Davis is one positive drug test away from a year long suspension from the NFL.
