Is it real or is it just an illusion?   Criss Angel is engaged to girlfriend Sandra Gonzalez after popping the question while the two were on vacation in Cabo San Lucas earlier this month.

Angel presented Gonzalez with a lovely 5-carat, princess-cut diamond on a platinum band.  He eve co-designed the engagement ring along with New York jeweler Idayne Kaye.

So how did it all go down?

On September 7, Criss and Sandra were having a romantic sunset dinner on the beach when he proposed. Unbeknownst to his true love, Angel had flown her family in as a surprise.  They showed up right after she accepted, with fireworks going off overhead.

This will be Angel’s second marriage.  His first marriage ended in 2006 after four years. He also was previously romantically linked to Holly Madison.

No wedding date has yet been set.
