The eye-Phone (iPhone) makes a cameo in the first 'Three Stooges' trailer

The iPhone makes another cameo, as it appears briefly in the new, just released, Three Stooges theatrical trailer. If you weren't aware, the Farrelly Brothers are hoping to reacquaint the public with the comic threesome, update for the 21st Century and naturally featuring a set of new actors.

Apple's iconic iPhone makes its appearance at about the 30 second mark of the trailer. You can see that Curly decides the iPhone is meant to be put up to one's eye. It's very reminiscent of the Futurama episode, "Attack of the Killer App," in which MomCorp's eyePhone is actually placed INTO your eye.

The old Three Stooges were really more than three, because of health events in the live of the Howard family. The first "set" of Three Stooges was composed of Moe Howard, his brother Curly, and Larry Fine. After Curly suffered a stroke in May of 1946, he was replaced in the group by fellow brother Shemp Howard. Curly died in January of 1952.

Later still, Joe Besser replaced Shemp after Shemp's death from a heart attack in November of 1955. Finally, Joe DeRita (dubbed "Curly Joe" on film) replaced Joe Besser.

The act saw its end, for the most part, when Larry suffered a paralyzing stroke in January of 1970. Moe led one more attempt to revive the Three Stooges with longtime supporting actor Emil Sitka filling in for Larry, but basically after Larry's stoke, the "curtain dropped."

Larry died after a series of additional strokes in January of 1975. Moe died of lung cancer in May of 1975.

For this Three Stooges revival, TV stars Sean Hayes, Will Sasso, and Chris Diamantopoulos have been cast in the leading roles. Sean Hayes you might remember, from his Emmy-winning role as Jack on "Will and Grace." Will Sasso is mostly known for MADtv. Chris Diamantopoulos has guest-starred on several TV shows.

As a Farrelly Brothers film, this isn't going to be an Academy Award winning film. In fact, as the YouTUbe Blurb says,

"Left on a nun’s doorstep, Larry, Curly and Moe grow up finger-poking, nyuk-nyuking and woo-woo-wooing their way to uncharted levels of knuckleheaded misadventure. Out to save their childhood home, only The Three Stooges could become embroiled in an oddball murder plot … while also stumbling into starring in a phenomenally successful TV reality show."

[In case you're wondering, the reality TV show is Jersey Shore.]

Still, a lot of folks are looking forward to a Three Stooges revival.

All iPhone references aside, are you satisfied with the actors chosen, and based on the trailer (below), will you go?
