Man accused in TV anchor death wants new lawyers

The man accused of killing an Arkansas television anchorwoman says he no longer trusts his defense team.

Curtis Lavelle Vance said in court Tuesday that prosecutors had evidence that he had not seen and that his lawyers would not talk to him about. Vance told the judge "you all got the whole world thinking I did this."

Vance's lawyers asked that he be given a mental evaluation.

Pulaski County Circuit Judge Chris Piazza told Vance that he couldn't tell the state's public defender commission what lawyers to put on Vance's case.

Vance is accused in the October beating death of 26-year-old Anne Pressley, a morning anchorwoman for Little Rock television station KATV. He has pleaded not guilty.
