Lita Ford Talks ‘Runaways’ Movie; Meets Star Scout Taylor-Compton
Metal Queen Lita Ford broke her silence regarding the bio-pic about The Runaways, the bio-pic based on the 1970s all-girl band of the same name of which Ford was the lead guitarist.
"Most people would want to be in a movie, but I sure didn't want anything to do with this one," admits Ford about the film, which has the working title of The Runaways. "They're using my name and that makes me nervous as some of the people involved have tried to destroy my career since 1980."
The film, written and directed by Floria Sigismondi based on Runaways singer Cherie Currie’s memoirs, stars Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett, Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie, and Scout Taylor Compton as Lita Ford, and is scheduled for theatrical release in 2010
Apparently, Ford's apprehension about The Runaways has changed a bit now that she's actually met the 20-year-old actress who will portray her in the movie. Compton made a special trip out to Harrah's in Lake Tahoe, Nevada last week to see Ford perform with Queensryche and to meet the musician. (See pictures from the meeting here.) [...]
