Tye Strickland -- Engaged to Melissa Rycroft
It seems that former Bachelor contestant Melissa Rycroft will get her happy ending after all. After being dumped by "Bachelor" Jason Mesnick on national television, she's now engaged to insurance agent Tye Strickland.
Jason proposed to Melissa with ring in a lighted jewelery box and the couple celebrated their engagement with their parents at Brio in Manhattan. Rycroft publicly announced the engagement on Good Morning America this morning, saying "Sometimes, the stars align and the clouds part and everything works out the way it should."
According to the New York Daily News:
Rycroft's first engagement was to 'Bachelor' Jason Mesnick, who then dumped her very publicly on national television six weeks later.Rycroft rebounded quickly from the break-up and began dating Strickland shortly thereafter.
"We've been really good friends but the timing was never right," she told US magazine at the time. "With all this going on, he's my support system. It's funny how things happen."
Meanwhile, Rycroft's career is taking off. The former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader was a finalist on 'Dancing with the Stars' and has just started a stint on 'Good Morning America.' She is scheduled to appear on the show throughout the summer.
The pair waited to announce their engagement due to other breaking national news this past weekend.
