Faliha Ahmed Hassan was the head of a women's rights group in Hawija, a Sunni Arab town near Kirkuk, Iraq. On October 27, 2006, Faliha was shot to death by gunmen who stormed her home in Kirkuk. The local police are investigating her murder.
