St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright is expected to return from the disabled list and start Friday against the Atlanta Braves.

ST. LOUIS, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- St. Louis Cardinals reliever Jason Isringhausen could miss the balance of the 2008 season because of tendinitis in his right elbow.  

Manager Tony La Russa today finally answered the burning question of what to do with righthander Adam Wainwright. La Russa said Wainwright, who has had a sprained middle finger on his right hand, will start Friday night here against the Atlanta Braves.
