Brothers at War: A close-up look at life on the ground from a Soldier's perspective

New film pruduced by Actor Gary Sinise, opening in theatres nationwide this week. Sinise has made it his personal mission to lift the spirits of those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. He frequently makes trips to both fields of operations sponsored by the USO, with his "Lt. Dan Band" (named after the character he portrayed in Forrest Gump.)

The film premiered Friday night in Fayetteville, NC. Writes the Fayetteville Observer:

One after one, family members of military service members and active-duty soldiers stood up in the theater and thanked the filmmakers for bringing their story to the big screen.

It was a story, they said, that needed to be told.

Hundreds of people attended the Fayetteville debut of “Brothers at War.” The documentary follows Jake Rademacher, the director, as he travels to Iraq to follow two of his brothers — Maj. Isaac Rademacher and Staff Sgt. Joe Rademacher — who were deployed with the 82nd Airborne Division.

The film, a four-year project, is Jake Rademacher’s attempt to understand why his brothers went to war and what they endured while on the front lines. Maj. Rademacher is stationed at Fort Bragg.

Sinise is also known for his support for military-service members. He was recently awarded the Presidential Citizens Medal for exemplary service and support to U.S. troops, the second-highest such honor awarded to civilians.
One of the soldiers featured is quoted in the film:

"I'd give my life for America any day... wouldn't think twice"
