Birth in your 40's now is considered to be late, yet it was quite common in previous centuries. Women have been having babies well into their 40's, and even their 50's - since the beginning of time.

"In 2005, there were more than 104,000 births in the United States to women ages 40 through 44, and over 6,500 to women 45 and older. In 2004, there were 1,786 live births to women over 42, using donor eggs."

Sharing articles I find, discussing options you might consider & suggesting what might help. Lots of inspiring stories of pregnancy & birth, both spontaneous and assisted.

To the person who added: "Whatever age you are when you're unable to get pregnant." So if you are having trouble getting pregnant at 20, you are too old??
I feel that there is no age limit. I feel that society wants things a certain way but that's not how real people are. As long as a person decides to be a good parent then there is no reason why he or she can not be a parent.I personally would stop if having a baby puts my life and the baby's life at risk. There would be other options such as adoption for the children who have no parents.
If you're not expected to see their twentieth then I think you are to old.

I think a woman over 35 years of age is too old to be thinking about giving birth to a child. It is a selfish act whenever a woman is selfishly wanting a child to fulfill her own desire rather than thinking about the consequences that exist for the child and the woman conceiving a child beyond 35 years of age. Do the research it shows that the older a woman is the risk for birth defects increase as well. Are you willing to take that risk? What about the child who will have to suffer the anomalies, birth defects, etc., Have your children during the time that the risk for birth defects is minimal...If you must have a child beyond age 35, Adopt a child that is in need of loving couple... Do the right thing!
im just going to stay a vrgin until i get married,i can wait
I find younger women quite angry and bitter when women over 40 get pregnant. I've heard it many times over, younger women making bitter comments towards the mature mom and it's mostly the Godly ones. Interesting how the Godly ones forget God made women to make babies till menopause!
To the ignorant MG123, hey news flash getting pregnant at any age is a risk. I've read women who have had to 'suffer the anomalies' as you put it, under the age of 30. Miscarriages, birth defects happne in all age groups. By your ignorant philosophy then no woman should bear chidren..better yet, YOU should not bear any!..now shoo!
lol, 'if you're not expected to see their 20th you are too old', lol...again with that philosophy women should just not bother with biological children and adopted. Can you guarantee you'll see your child's 20th?...and how did 20 become the cut off age.
If you're not able to see their 20th bday then you're too old? So if a woman got pregnant at age 45 then by 65 the woman could still be alive? hahha society is funny on how they think
My mom was almost 38 when she had me and I am glad she did! She lived until she was 75, so I had her for 38 years the last five were aweful because she was sick but that happens to alot of people even younger ones. Some of my friend’s younger mothers died when my friends were young. So how do you account for that? I hate all of the negative stuff being said about being an older mom. Older women make wonderful mothers. I would rather have an older mom who loved me and wanted me even if she died when I was young then a selfish teen mom who only cares about her own needs and lives a really long time and cause me misery for 60 years!
