Actress Gillian Taylforth dumps violent partner Geoff Knights

Actress Gillian Taylforth has dumped her violent partner after 23 years.

The former EastEnders and The Bill star, 52, has left long-time boyfriend Geoff Knights - accused of beating her up during their time together. Gillian's family were last night said to be delighted. An insider said: "She's had enough." Knights has moved out of their home in Broxbourne, Herts. The couple are now believed to be going through the courts to decide on custody of children Jessica, 17, and 10-year-old Harrison.

Knights was accused of hitting Gillian in an attack in front of Harrison three years ago. He was said to have hit her so hard she smashed her skull on a table. He was arrested but released with a caution after she refused to press charges.
