Gwen Stefani Says No Doubt Bandmates Are Her BFFs

Gwen Stefani is over the whole dance music thing. Really, really over it.

There are likely plenty of fans out there who didn't really know Gwen when she was part of No Doubt; in the past 5 years, she's reached international stardom with two chart-topping solo albums, but hasn't recorded any new material with the band in which she began her music career.

She and the guys—Tony Kanal, Adrien Young, and Tom Dumont—are reuniting for a tour, although they haven't written any of their next album. That's why they're touring: to get their mojo back, to figure out where the band's sound will go from here.

Don't expect Gwen to back out on her bandmates, either: she says she's done with her dance records. She told Spin:
I had a really specific sound and concept in my head, and I've squeezed it out. It's done. Everyone wants to make it like I 'left' the band, but I never planned for my thing to be so big. I always felt like I was cheating on them when I was working with other musicians. In my mind, there was never any question that I was going to come back to No Doubt. Those guys are my best friends forever.
