Herb Gardening

As a class of plants, herbs offer culinary or medicinal properties. They can be trees and shrubs, perennials, annuals, even bulbs.  

My grandmother used to say that things were better when they're homemade and grown in your own garden; I remember helping out in her immense garden each summer.  

Many perennials do well here in winter, including many medicinal & cooking herbs: various oregano's, mints, all kinds of sages, rosemary grows into big bushes, lamb's ears, just to name a few.  

Here's another beauty hiding in the GG Park Botanical Garden. What you can't see from this shot are the tiny curling vines that cover the trellis where these flowers are blooming.
