It’s over! GMTV doctor Hilary Jones to divorce wife after her ‘toyboy affair’ with friend’s son

The wife of TV doctor Hilary Jones yesterday admitted she is having a fling – with the son of one of his friends.

Sarah Jones, 48, said she has found love with Stephen Tristram, who at 37 is 18 years her husband’s junior.

Jones, who appears on GMTV, is said to have gone ‘ballistic’ when he heard the news, even though he was the one who walked out on the couple’s 19-year marriage seven months ago.

Mr Tristram is a former Royal Navy captain whose father, a hospital physician, is believed to be a former business partner of Jones. Jones’s first marriage also ended in failure.

In 1987 he split from Anne Marie, his wife of ten years by whom he has two sons, and started seeing Sarah, who had worked as a health visitor attached to his practice.

Mrs Jones grinned yesterday as she described Mr Tristram, who bears a passing resemblance to Jones, as ‘lovely’.

And she said she had no idea if her estranged husband was angry. ‘He may have been, but I’m not aware of it,’ she said at the £1million home near Basingstoke, Hampshire, which she once shared with her husband and their three teenage children.

‘Hilary and I still talk, we are very friendly still. He left me seven months ago now and I have just moved on – we both have.’
