Getty Images Jason Bateman is proud of his toned torso. He bares his chest in the new comedy Couples Retreat , and he claims he wasn't shy about shedding his shirt. He said, "I’m a safe distance away from a six-pack, so the shirt came right off. And the fact that we were all pasty white, that was one of the first scenes we shot in Bora Bora, so we were all pretty white. That helped." Jason and his Couples Retreat costars. Apparently Jason also wasn't allowed to get some extra color before they started shooting. According to Showbiz Spy , he said, "We ... Read Full Story

(Getty) Jason Bateman is deadpan. Remember on Arrested Development how he’d point out all the crazy stuff that was going on, playing it totally straight to show how insane his relatives were? Either that, or he’s just so jaded by a childhood in Hollywood sitcoms that nothing seems funny to him anymore. Now he’s on the animated series Sit Down, Shut Up , as a cartoon gym teacher, on Fox. Zimbio: Did you have pathetic gym teachers growing up? Jason Bateman: I did, but they’re not really the funny version. This guy, his meekness is his funny. He’s very, very meek and he doesn’t ... Thought I’d start taking a look at some of the new sitcoms coming out this year, and I’ve decided to start with Fox , since that’s the channel I find myself watching the most these days. One show I’ve seen lots of ads for is Do Not Disturb , starting Jerry O’Connell and Niecy Nash , which premieres Wednesday, Septermber 10, 2008 at at 9:30 PM ET . From the title, its obviously set in a hotel and it gives the impression, to me at least, that its about room service or maid staff. But its not. It’s about a New York City hotel ... Read Full Story

Hot off his television-directing debut with the pilot for "Do Not Disturb," actor and now director Jason Bateman has signed a 'first-look' contract with 20th Century Fox television. Under the one-year agreement, Bateman will develop television show projects for the studio through his F+A Production Company. 20th TV chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman were impressed by Bateman's work on "Do Not Disturb," a workplace comedy starring Jerry O'Connell that was the only comedy pilot Fox picked up as a new series for next season. "He did an excellent job on the pilot visually, brought great energy and enthusiasm to it and, as an ... Read Full Story
Do you like to laugh? At juvenile sex humor, specifically. Because that's what this video serves up, in big, steaming spoonfuls. "Couples Retreat" stars Jason Bateman and Kristen Bell know each other pretty well, "up until the point of insertion," Bell said. The following video is a series of hilarious outtakes from the time MTV [...]

On Wednesday, ComingSoon.net asked Jason Bateman about the status of Hancock 2 since it was reported in Variety recently that the comedic actor will reprise his role in the Columbia Pictures sequel. Bateman told us it wasn't true, at least not yet. "I only know what I've read," Bateman said. "No one has contacted me or anybody that represents me to ask if we were interested. I don't know anything about it. It's surprising to me that...

Though it's nearing the cold days of fall, one film this season graces moviegoers' eyes with a summery paradise setting filled with turquoise oceans and white beaches. The new film "Couples Retreat," starring a large cast of colorful characters played by Jon Favreau, Vince Vaughn, Malin Akerman, Jason Bateman and Kirsten Bell, provides little else than an ideal setting for this so-so comedy.

It is a sad day when the best character in a Vince Vaughn movie is a little boy whose total screen time lasts around 10 minutes. Unfortunately, that's the case in Vaughn's latest film "Couples Retreat," which he both co-wrote and acted in. With a cast that consisted of big names such as Vaughn, Jason Bateman, Jon Favreau (who also co-wrote the film), Malin Akerman, Kristen Bell and Kristin Davis, there was no excuse for this movie not to be...

Less than a month ago I spoke with Jason Bateman and managed to get updates on “Hancock 2″ and “Arrested Development”. At the time, nothing had been officially announced regarding a “Hancock” sequel, and Jason didn’t think the story had any substance. But in the past month, Adam Fierro and Glen Mazzara have been hired [...]
