British actress Keira Knightley, 24, has filmed a chilling 2-minute advertisement for the nonprofit Women's Aid to bring attention to the domestic abuse suffered by women of all backgrounds.
In the ad, Keira plays an actress whose boyfriend seems convinced that she's in love with a co-star. He verbally attacks her, at which point Knightley appears to "break the fourth wall" and says to the camera, "I didn't agree to this," before she is savagely attacked.
The clip was directed by Joe Wright, who also directed Keira in Atonement. It's cutting, terrifying, and so very effective. Be warned that it contains some fairly realistic violence.
