Ask Senator Kirsten Gillibrand about the future of health care: Thursday, Nov. 19 @BlogHer

Meet U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), who recently argued on the Senate floor against what she described as discriminatory practices in health care coverage of women:

"According to the data compiled by the National Women's Law Center, under the current system, a 25-year-old woman pays up to 45 percent more for the same or identical coverage. Some of the most essential services required by women are not covered by most insurance plans, such as child-bearing, pap smears or mammograms." (Quote begins at 0:22 in the video below.)

In addition to health care reform, the Senator invites questions about two additional health-related issues she has made priorities: Fighting childhood obesity and strengthening food safety in the United States.
