Mark Sanford Says He 'Crossed Lines' With Other Women, Calls Chapur His 'Soul Mate'

After garnering some level of pathos after his emails to mistress Maria Belen Chapur were revealed, he's gone and blown it with an Associated Press reporter.

The South Carolina governor's scandal continued to unfold as he told the reporter that he's "crossed lines" with other women. That's women. Meaning maybe we'll get lucky and meet a few other women Sanford has "crossed lines" with before this thing is over. But before you judge the gov to harshly, he wants you to remember that he's "never crossed the ultimate line" with anyone but Chapur.

"Never crossed the ultimate line"? Who talks like that? Sanford does. After all, he's the same guy who wrote semi-erotic emails to his Argentine lover, proclaiming: "I love your tan lines or that I love the curve of your hips, the erotic beauty of you holding yourself (or two magnificent parts of yourself) in the faded glow of the night’s light."

Sanford doesn't elaborate on exactly what lines were crossed or what bases he got to with which women, but he doesn't shy away from emotion either. In the interview, Sanford called Chapur his "soul mate," but said he's trying to fall back in love with his wife, Jenny Sanford.
