Deke Wants To Play One More Year

The “Houston Chronicle” reported Thursday that Houston Rockets center Dikembe Mutombo would like to play one more season in the NBA. The “Ancient Warrior” played a key role for the Rockets down the stretch of the regular season, after center Yao Ming was out for the year due to a stress fracture in his foot. Deke told the paper that he had a talk with his wife and children who encouraged him to go back for what will be his eighteenth season in the Association. Deke said the only hold up is negotiating a deal with Houston, the Rockets team owner earlier had said he wanted to bring the veteran back.
