Although Orkut is less popular in the United States than competitors Facebook and MySpace, it is one of the most visited websites in India and Brazil.
A Brazilian court has ordered Google Inc. to pay the equivalent of about $500,000 to a race-car driver because of fake profiles posted on its Orkut social network, according to reports Wednesday. (GOOG)
