Floyd Mayweather tops Georges St. Pierre for ESPY award
Georges St. Pierre, the only mixed-martial-arts fighter nominated for a 2008 "best fighter" ESPY, fell short in voting for the award. St. Pierre, the UFC's current welterweight champion, lost out to boxer Floyd Mayweather, who posted memorable victories over Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton in 2007.
This year's ESPY award winners were revealed on Thursday during a ceremony in Los Angeles.
