According to Wikipedia: Paintball is a sport in which participants eliminate opponents from play by hitting them with paintballs shot from a compressed gas-powered gun, commonly called a marker.
Paintball draws a wide array of players, and the Sporting Goods Manufacturer's Association estimates that over 10 million people play annually in the United States alone. Insurance statistics show that paintball is one of the safest sports in existence, even more so than golf.
As early as the end of November, Eastern's campus could be home to a new paintball field, and it has some students ready to lock and load.
Will Sutherland, captain of the paintball club, said not only is the paintball club excited about the proposed addition, but that it would also make Eastern unique.
