Collin Rhodes South Carolina Pottery Jug sells for $3,508

This 8 ½ inch tall Collin Rhodes South Carolina Pottery Jug sold for $3,508 in September 2009.  This jug was made in the early 1850s and it is believed by many that African-American slave women helped decorate these jugs.   This slip-applied glaze has decoration consisting of a looped medallion around the symbol “½”
