Redmond O'Neal, Farrah Fawcett's Convict Son, to Star in Reality Show

It hasn't been a good year for Redmond O'Neal. Before his mother, Farrah Fawcett, died, he was arrested for heroin possession. At the time, he was out on bail for a previous drug arrest when he and his dad, Ryan O'Neal, were both arrested for meth possession. So he was thrown back in jail and denied bail.

Redmond was allowed out of custody to attend his mother's funeral, but had to wear handcuffs. Tragic is one word that comes to mind.

That's why it's no surprise that when reality TV came calling, Redmond and his father Ryan both said yes. In Touch Weekly reports that Redmond signed a contract brokered by Ryan to start filming a show that has yet to be sold to a network.

The show is scheduled to start shooting when Redmond is released in 4 months. He is currently undergoing treatment for his substance abuse problems, and if he slips up, the consequences could be major. Redmond, the sole heir named in Farrah Fawcett's will, won't receive his inheritance unless he's sober.

The reality show will deal with Redmond's inevitable struggles with sobriety and family. Hopefully, for his sake, the show will be very, very boring.
