Studio "D" was the first, legal, state chartered club in America (1964). We were raided by the Flint Sheriff's department, without a warrant, upon orders from the Prosecutor, Robert Leonard. This was way before Stonewall. They came in with shotguns and pistols. Like the Gestapo, roughing people up and then arresting everyone. At the interrogation in the wee hours of the morning, they were asked if they were homosexual and if they were, they would be held in jail. My-oh-my.
