Saturday’s Health and Wellness Walk by the Parliamentary Representative for Constituency Six, Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas marks the first anniversary of the event.
“The incidence of hypertension and diabetes remain a major concern not only for St. Kitts and Nevis, but other Caribbean States. Too many of our people are obese,” Prime Minister Douglas said Friday.
“We have been seeing quite a bit of juvenile obesity. That is a great concern to us,” said Dr. Douglas, who will lead participants from Newton Ground to the hard court in Parsons.
Participants ranging from five years to over 70 enjoy a healthy breakfast after the walk.
