Small plane crashes near Woodland Airport

A small plane has reportedly crashed near Woodland-Watts Aviation airport just west of Woodland this morning around 11.

There were no fatalities.

Initial reports from Daily Democrat photographers at the scene indicate the "training plane" hit a bird and crashed as it was taking off. There were two occupants of the plane, an instructor and a student.

The exact condition of both was unknown although one of The Democrat's photographers has stated that both occupants were either unhurt or received light injuries. A second photographer reported that both refused medical aid.


The plane itself apparently flipped over into a tomato field when it came down.
